It's the islands only accessible sea cave and a magical spot. It takes its name from the sea anemones you'll find swaying gently in the pools. Look out for the rather nice restaurant nearby, and whatever you do, don't forget your camera, those views really are spectacular.

Set in a magnificent mahogany tree forest and teeming with wildlife, the Barbados Wildlife Reserve is a must-see if you love monkeys, macaws, and adorable little maras. The green monkeys are the star of the show, but it's a stunning escape from the usual hustle and bustle of the resorts.

Giddy-up and place your bets at the Barbados Turf Club's Garrison Savannah. Once home to the British Army, its now the island's best-loved race track and a great day out if you love the gee-gees. Our top tip: Even if you're not into horse racing, the restaurants here are excellent.

This gorgeous gardens unique sunken layout makes you feel like the whole garden is wrapping you in colour and scents. If that wasn't enough, the owner likes to serenade visitors with classical music too, so it's a feast for all your senses. One of our favourite chill-out Barbados attractions.

The link may be a bit tentative (he only stayed here briefly when he was 19), but George Washington House is well worth a visit. The weekly Dinner with George is a unique dinner/theatre production that's definitely worth booking if you're looking for something a little different to do on a Monday evening.

A visit to a government building? Well, Barbados does things a little differently, and their government house is a magnificent 19th century pile full of archways, turrets and towers. A great spot if you love your architecture, and the most famous building in Bridgetown.

This lush tropical garden has a unique setting in a collapsed cave, making it an intimate, charming experience unlike any other on the island. Seriously. You wouldn't be surprised to see faeries pop out from under the giant lily pads. Keep a look out for the monkeys that wander freely around the gardens.

The pointy nose, the delta wings it could only be the legendary Concorde. One of the top attractions in Barbados and a chance to see this revolutionary aircraft up close and personal. Known affectionately as Alpha Echo, the plane is lovingly preserved, beautifully presented, and surprisingly small.
